- Maintenance And Repair
“BAD DYNAMIC MEMORY”
(8500C Only)
1. Check 8500C harness assembly
(Figure 5-19) for shorted or open
connections which can be caused by loose
or pinched wires, unplugged connectors, or
worn-through insulation.
2. Make sure all socketed IC’s are properly
seated on Digital and Analog boards
(Figure 5-17 A1 and A2).
3. Digital board is most likely at fault. Replace
digital board (Figure 5-17, A1).
“EPROM TEST HAS FAILED”
(8500C Only)
1. Verify that EPROM’s (Figure 5-15) are
plugged correctly into digital board. Check
for bent pins, etc.
2. Remove EPROM’s in accordance with
Section 5.7.3, “EPROM Change
Procedure.” Check EPROM’s for bent pins,
etc. Reinstall EPROM’s.
3. Replace EPROM’s.
“ANALOG FILTER FAILURE”
1. Write down all information displayed on
8500C/C+.
2. Press
TRY AGAIN
soft key. This failure
can occur occasionally with nothing
permanently wrong with unit.
3. Power down 8500C/C+. After ten seconds,
hold down
START
key and turn power
back on (this erases all memory in 8500C/
C+).
4. Check 8500C/C+ harness assembly
(Figure 5-19) for shorted or open
connections which can be caused by loose
or pinched wires, unplugged connectors, or
worn-through insulation.
5. Persistent analog filter failures could be
caused by the keypad panel. To determine
whether it is at fault, disconnect keypad
panel connector (Figure 5-19, Sheet 2, J4/
P4) from digital board (Figure 5-17, A1). If
error message has not reappeared upon
power-up, replace keypad panel
(Figure 5-17, (1)).
