To access battery pack, disconnect connector A2P1 on analog board A2 and remove
analog board.
c.
Desolder red and black leads from battery pack.
d.
Cut ties that secure battery pack, and remove battery pack.
e.
Put new battery pack P/N 610-189, in place on analog board, and resolder red lead to
positive terminal and black lead to negative terminal on battery pack. Insure this
replacement pack is fully charged.
f.
Secure battery pack with new ties, and reassemble 8500C/C+ in accordance with Section
5.9.2.2.3.
5.7.5 Fuse Replacement
5.7.5.1
8520C Power Supply Board (A2) Fuse (Figure 5-20)
a.
Turn unit upside down, remove eighteen screws (5) and washers (7), and remove bottom
cover (12).
b.
Remove old fuse from power supply board A2, and replace with a new fuse, P/N 301-
20258.
c.
Reinstall bottom cover (12) and secure with eighteen 4-40 x 3/8” pan php. blk. screws (5)
and #4 std. intl. lck. .260” washers (7).

8500C Power Supply Board (A3) Fuse (Figure 5-18)
a.
Turn unit upside down.
b.
Remove eight screws (32), two screws (33), and remove bottom cover (3).
c.
Remove old fuse from power supply board A3, and replace with a new fuse, P/N 301-
20258.
d.
Reinstall bottom cover (3), and secure with eight 3/16” pan php. blk. screws (32) and two
1/4” pan php. blk. screws (33).

8500C Heater/EL Board (A4) Fuse (Figure 5-17)
a.
Remove ten screws (32) and four screws (33), and remove bezel (4).
b.
Fold back printer/disk drive assembly so that it stands straight up on its side with keypad
panel (1) lying flat on table, as shown in Figure 5-16.
c.
Remove old fuse from Heater/EL board A4, and replace with a new fuse, P/N 301-20258.
d.
Close unit while watching for pinched connector wires.
e.
Install bezel (4) on keypad panel (1), and secure with ten 4-40 x 3/16 php. blk. screws (32)
and four 4-40 x 1/4 pan. blk. screws (33).
