CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE/CAMSHAFT

Remove the spark plug.

BAND SCREW

Loosen the band screw and remove the carburetor

insulator if necessary.

Remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sen-

sor if necessary.

INSULATOR

ECT SENSOR

Remove the four bolts and the cylinder head.

Do not strike the

BOLTS

cylinder head too

hard.

CYLINDER HEAD

Remove the gasket and dowel pins.

DOWEL PINS

GASKET

CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY

Remove the valve spring cotters using the valve

To prevent loss of

SPRING COMPRESSOR

spring compressor.

tension, do not

compress the valve

springs more than

TOOL:

necessary to
