3. Routine Inspection before Every Shift
26
Warning:
Never check coolant when the engine is hot. You can suffer serious burns from
extremely hot pressurized coolant.
1. Carefully remove the black radiator cap and inspect the coolant level in the radiator. Coolant
must be visible in the radiator fill pipe located at the top of the radiator.
2. Locate the yellow coolant overflow reservoir cap in the left rear corner of the engine
compartment.
3. Verify that the level of coolant in the coolant overflow reservoir is between the min and max
marks.
Caution:
Use coolant that complies with Holder requirements. See
Fluids and lubricants
section.
4. If the level of coolant is below the min mark, add coolant into the coolant overflow reservoir to
bring the level half way between the min and max marks. Do not overfill.
5. Close the coolant overflow reservoir and put the radiator cap back. Ensure that both caps are
secured.
6. If you detect any faults or non-compliance, refer to
Troubleshooting
chapter. Otherwise,
continue the routine inspection and go to the next routine procedure.
18. Checking engine air intake system
This routine inspection verifies that the engine air intake system is in proper condition.
Before checking the engine air intake system, ensure the following:
1. The dump platform is secured with the safety support, and the lock pin is installed.
2. The ignition key is not in the ignition, and the engine has not been running in the last five
minutes.
To check the engine air intake system:
Warning:
Dump platform can unintentionally fall down if not secured with additional
support. Failure to comply could result in serious or fatal injuries.
Caution:
Engine and exhaust system become very hot when the engine is running.
Note:
If the tractor has been used in a dusty environment or in the operations such as
sweeping or mowing, the engine air filter must be checked before every shift. Otherwise,
check the engine air filter at least every week.
