Engaging differential lock
The purpose of a differential lock is to lock both axles 1:1 so that all four wheels will spin at the same
speed in a low traction situation. Engaging the differential lock creates extreme shear forces in the gear
system that can easily damage the tractor.
Warning:
Failure to comply with the following guidelines will result in damage to the tractor.
To avoid damage to the tractor and voided warranty while using the differential lock, the following
guidelines must be adhered to:
l
Only use the differential lock in strait-line travel with engine speed 1200-1500 rpm maximum and
no wheel spin. If the wheels are spinning, damage can occur to the differential lock system. That
damage will not be considered a warranty repair.
l
Only use the differential lock for extreme situations with low traction such as inclines to prevent
wheel spin.
l
The differential lock is equipped with a momentary switch and therefore must be held in the
position in order for the system to be active.
l
The differential lock must not be held on for a prolonged period of time.
l
Do not attempt to use the differential lock when you have wheel spin.
l
For cornering, you must switch off the differential lock.
To engage the differential lock:
Warning:
Improper use of the differential lock or its abuse will cause massive damage to the
tractor and void your warranty.
1. Make sure that you are driving in a straight line, and the engine is running below 1500 rpm.
2. Ensure that no wheel spin is present.
3. Press and hold the differential lock momentary switch in the down position (Picture). The alarm
will sound, and the differential lock indicator in the instrument panel and in the LED light in the
differential switch will turn on, notifying the operator that the differential lock has been engaged.
4. If wheel spin occurs, release the differential lock switch immediately. You may engage the
differential lock again as soon as the wheels stop spinning.
Warning:
Tampering with alarm system will void your warranty and may be a cause of
injuries and damage to the tractor.
Note:
To disengages the differential lock, release the differential lock momentary switch.
The alarm will stop, and the differential lock indicator in the instrument panel will turn off.
