4. If the tractor has non-automatic parking brake system, set the parking brake switch to on position.
Ensure that the light in the parking brake switch and the parking brake indicator in the instrument
panel flash and then remain lit indicating that the parking brake is fully engaged.
5. If you detect any irregularities in the parking brake system, shut down the tractor and see
Troubleshooting
chapter.
To disengage the parking brake:
Note:
The tractor must be running before disengaging the parking brake.
1. Turn on the ignition key and start the engine.
Caution:
Traveling with the parking brake engaged will overheat brake components,
causing premature wear (of what?), and may lead to overheating seals, causing gear oil leaks.
If you attempt to drive with parking brake engaged, alarm will sound.
2. Set the parking brake switch to off position. If the parking brake switch is a momentary switch,
push it down and release.
3. Ensure that the parking brake indicator in the instrument panel and the light in the parking brake
switch are flashing.
4. Wait until the parking brake indicator in the instrument panel and the light in the parking brake
switch turn off, indicating that the parking brake is fully released. If you try to move the tractor
before the light and indicator are off, the alarm will sound.
