3. Routine Inspection before Every Shift
20
To check the level of hydraulic oil:
1. Bring all tractor hydraulics and attachments downward.
2. To ensure a more accurate level reading for hydraulic oil, float hydraulic pressure from all six
tractor hydraulic systems:
a. For all six hydraulic float buttons on the keypad, press and hold every hydraulic float
button one at a time until the float button illuminates. The light in the button indicates
that pressure has been released from the corresponding hydraulic system.
3. Check hydraulic oil level through the sight glass on the hydraulic reservoir located behind the
cab on the right side of the tractor.
4. If hydraulic oil is below the min mark, follow the steps below.
Warning:
Use only the hydraulic oil specified by Holder. Refer to
Fluids and lubricants
section. Any other fluid will damage the tractor.
5. Remove the hydraulic reservoir cap and place it beside the reservoir. Do not lose the cap.
Caution:
Do not add too much oil. The upper limit of hydraulic oil must be visible through the
sight glass.

Note:
If the level of hydraulic oil is below the min mark, then the hydraulic system might be
missing up to 4 L / 1 gal. of hydraulic oil.
6. Using a funnel, slowly add the appropriate amount of the hydraulic oil specified by Holder into
the hydraulic reservoir through the fill tube only. While adding hydraulic oil, monitor its level
through the sight glass. Continue adding hydraulic oil until its level is above the min mark. If
after adding 4 L / 1 gal. of hydraulic oil, its level is still below the min mark, refer to
Troubleshooting
chapter.
7. Reinstall the hydraulic reservoir cap and remove any spilled oil.
8. Verify that the hydraulic oil level is above the min mark.
9. Continue the routine inspection and go to the next routine procedure.
9. Checking level of brake fluid
This routine procedure verifies that the tractor has appropriate amount of brake fluid.
