Safety guidelines with respect to particular situations
This sections defines safety guidelines that the operator must follow in order to avoid or prevent certain
hazards.
Risk of accident while driving
Warning:
Failure to comply with the following guidelines could result in serious or fatal
injuries and damage to the tractor.
To avoid accidents wile driving:
l
Drive according to the rules and regulations applicable in your area.
l
Adapt your driving speed to the weather and road/surface conditions.
l
Slow down before curves.
l
Do not operate the tractor if there is a possibility of slipping, crashing, or tipping over.
l
Keep a safe distance in front of the tractor in case you are required to quickly apply the brakes.
l
Do not exceed the gross permissible weight of the tractor.

Risk of tractor tipping over
Warning:
Failure to comply with the following guidelines could result in serious or fatal
injuries, and damage to the tractor.
Despite the superb stability characteristics of the C992 Holder tractor, the operator may cause
the tractor to tip over.
To prevent the tractor from tipping over:
l
Maintain safe operating speed according to road/surface conditions.
l
Slow down when
o
turning
o
working on slopes
o
carrying heavy loads
o
driving near ditches, ravines, excavations, embankments
o
driving on rough, soft or slick ground, or when visibility is restricted
l
Use counterweights (front or rear end) to help keep the tractor stable when necessary. Follow
Holder's instructions when applying counterweights. Refer to ?
l
Do not overload the tractor.
l
Avoid abrupt steering and excessive braking.
l
Install attachments only according to the installation guide of an attachment.
l
Avoid backing downhill.
l
Drive around ditches, not across them.
l
Do not drive diagonally across a slope. Drive straight down even the gentlest slope.
