Engaging special drive system (SDS)
This procedure provides instructions on how to engage the special drive system (SDS). SDS is designed
for higher driving comfort and only available in low gear range. When SDS is engaged, the ground
speed is controlled with the throttle pedal and determined by the position of the fine speed adjustment
dial.
Before engaging SDS, ensure the following:
1. Tractor is at a complete stop.
2. High/low cable is set for low gear.
To engage SDS:
1. Set the drive program switch to 2.
2. Set the fine speed adjustment dial to the appropriate ground speed level.
3. If needed, adjust the required engine or PTO shaft speed with the hand throttle (?)
4. Use the throttle pedal to accelerate to the appropriate ground speed.
Engaging dual drive system
This procedure provides instructions on how to engage the dual drive system when the tractor has been
parked for an extended period (several hours) and the outside temperature is below 0°C/32°F. The
purpose of the dual drive system is to remove the hydrostatic system from operation and link the engine
directly to the final drive 1:1. The dual drive system is completely automatic. When the ground speed
exceeds 25 km/h (15.5 mph), the drive mode automatically switches from hydrostatic to mechanical
drive. When the ground speed falls below 25 km/h, the gear automatically switches back to hydrostatic
drive.
The dual drive system works only under the following conditions:
l
Gear box is in high gear range.
l
Drive program switch is set to 1.
Although the dual drive system is optional, it offers the following significant benefits:
l
significant reduction of wear and tear of the hydrostatic system
l
significant increase of the service life of hydraulic oil
l
40% increase in fuel efficiency
l
reduced noise level
l
higher maximum ground speed
l
enhanced overall durability of the driving system
