3. Routine Inspection before Every Shift
28
1. Remove the left rear orange fender to ease the access to the alternator V-belt.
2. Under the battery in between the radiator and engine, locate the V-belt and inspect it for wear and
cracks.
3. Test the tension of the V-belt: push it down or try to flip it. A well-tensioned V-belt cannot be
flipped or pushed down more than 10-15 mm.
4. Remove the right rear orange fender to reach the AC or fan V-belt, depending on whether the air
conditioner is installed.
5. Inspect the AC V-belt for wear, cracks, and tension.
6. If the V-belts are loose, refer to
Troubleshooting
chapter. If the V-belts are damaged and require
replacement, contact the nearest Holder-accredited service facility.
7. Reinstall both rear orange fenders and ensure that they are secured.
8. If you detect any faults or non-compliance, refer to
Troubleshooting
chapter. Otherwise, continue
the routine inspection and go to the next routine procedure.
20. Greasing joints and shafts
This routine procedure provides instructions on how to grease joints and shafts to prevent their
premature wear.
Before greasing joints and shafts:
Danger:
Failure to comply with the procedure can cause uncontrolled tractor movements
that will result in serious or fatal injuries, and damage to the tractor.
1. Ensure that the tractor is stationary.
l
Drive direction switch is in neutral.
l
Drive program switch is set to 0.
l
Parking brake is engaged.
2. Ensure that the ignition key is not in the ignition.
3. Have a grease gun loaded with multipurpose grease as specified by Holder. For the details, refer
to
Fluids and lubricants
section.
To grease joints and shafts:
1. Turn the steering wheel in one direction to the maximum.
2. Move the upper drive shaft by hand until the lubrication nipple is easily accessible.
Caution:
Do not apply too much grease. It may damage the seal, and will clog U-joints and
drive shafts.
3. Grease the upper drive shaft U-joints until the grease comes out. Ensure that the grease gets into
the lubrication nipple.
4. Move the center drive shaft until the lubrication nipple is easily accessible?
