Scheduled Maintenance
Reactivating a truck winterized with antifreeze:
Note that the steps in this procedure are intended
to recover as much of the antifreeze from the
system as possible.
1. Add clean fresh water to the clean water tank.
2. Position the spray bar over a container to col-
lect the antifreeze.
3. Start the truck engine and allow it warm up
for several minutes.
4. With the engine at idle, turn the PTO switch
ON to activate the hydraulic system.
5. Activate the DUMP VALVE switch to close the
dump valve and send the antifreeze mixture
to the spray bar when the charge pump is
engaged.
6. Active the POWER and CHARGE PUMP switches
to engage the charge pump and flush the an
-
tifreeze from the system.
7. Turn the charge pump OFF when the clean
clear water is flowing from the spray bar.
NOTICE:
IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO REUSE THE RECOvERED
ANTIFREEZE, MAKE SURE TO TEST IT AND MAKE SURE THE
ANTIFREEZE MIXTURE HAS NOT BECOME DILUTED TO THE
POINT WHERE IT WILL NOT PROTECT THE WATER SYSTEM
AT THE EXPECTED TEMPERATURES.
REMEMBER THAT THE ANTIFREEZE WILL BE SLIGHTLY
DILUTED EACH TIME THE SYSTEM IS WINTERIZED, WHICH
WILL CAUSE THE FREEZE PROTECTION TEMPERATURE TO
RISE. THE AMOUNT OF DILUTION WILL vARY, DEPENDING
ON THE vOLUME OF FRESHWATER IN THE SYSTEM AT THE
TIME OF WINTERIZATION.
