6. Activate the truck engine and the charge water
system.
7. Purge the blast head at low pressure to remove
debris that could clog the nozzles.
8.
Once the spray bar is flushed, deactivate the
water blasting system and return the truck to
the service position.
9. Apply a light coat of anti-seize to the threads
on the new nozzles.
10. Install the nozzles into the spray bar being
careful not to get any anti-sieze on the seat
area of the nozzle or the spray bar.
11.
Tighten each nozzle finger tight. Then torque
each nozzle to 10 ft lbs.
12. Activate the truck, auxiliary engine and the
water blasting system by following the steps
in the Start Up Procedure.
13. With the truck and auxiliary engine at idle, set
the Head Rotation speed dial to 0,
14. Make sure all personnel are well clear of the
blasting head, then turn the DUMP VALVE 40K
switch ON to activate the Ultra-High Pressure
water system.
15. Raise auxiliary engine RPM slowly to set the
operating pressure to a safe level. Staying well
clear of the water jets, no closer than 18”, visu
-
ally inspect the spray pattern of each nozzle.
16.
Confirm that at least a 1 inch, needle tight,
water jet is coming from each nozzle.
17. Reduce auxiliary engine speed to idle, deacti-
vate the water blasting system and shutdown
the truck.
18. Replace the spray bar protector and gasket.
19. Rotate the Hog Head to the horizontal position.
