3.8 Dumping Debris
Solid debris (larger than 100 microns) is separated
from the wastewater by the filter and needs to be
dumped when the debris cage is near full. Two
hydraulic actuators below the tank lift the passen-
ger side, causing the tank to tilt for easy dumping.
Before dumping debris, be sure you are dump-
ing in an approved dump site and that the truck
is on solid, level ground. Then use the following
procedure to dump debris from the cage.
1. Perform the shutdown procedure and shift the
truck to transport mode to drive the unit to
the dump site. If necessary, also lower the
separator.
2. Place the truck in neutral and set the parking
brake.
3. Make sure the auxiliary engine is shutdown
and all switches in the control panel are OFF
with the speed dials set to 0.
4. Turn the PTO switch ON to activate the hy-
draulic system. Make sure the engine is set
to idle speed.
5. Make sure all wastewater is drained from the
debris cage sump. Activate the transfer pump
system in DISCHARGE mode or open the grav-
ity drain valves if necessary to completely
drain the sump. Then shutdown the pump
system or close the drain valves.
6. Open the drain valve for the wastewater blad-
der on the driver side of the skid and com-
pletely drain the bladder. Then close the valve.
7. Move the TANK/SEPARATOR toggle switch to
the TANK position and plug the remote control
switch into the grey receptacle near the switch.
8. Open the debris cage door latch and make
sure the door swings freely.
9. Make sure all personnel are well clear of the
truck, then press the UP button on the remote
to tilt and dump the bag and debris from the
cage.
10. If the debris and bag does not slide out, use
a rod or shovel to break up the debris until it
is all removed.

CAUTION
NEvER ROCK THE TRUCK OR BOUNCE THE HYDRAULIC
ACTUATORS TO MAKE THE DEBRIS BAG FALL OUT. THIS
JERKING MOvEMENT WILL DAMAGE THE HYDRAULIC
ACTUATORS AND POSSIBLY BREAK THE DEBRIS CAGE
HINGE PINS OR MOUNT BRACKETS.
11. Once the debris bag is removed from the tank,
clean out any remaining debris and rinse the
cage and sump with clean water
12. Lower the cage and install a new debris bag.
Then close and latch the door.
NOTICE:
A HOSE CAN BE ATTACHED TO THE CHARGE WATER
PUMP TO USE THE ONBOARD CLEAN WATER SUPPLY TO
WASHDOWN THE DEBRIS CAGE AFTER DUMPING.
