5.17 Replacing Hydraulic Filter
A spin on filter in the return line removes contami -
nates from the hydraulic fluid as it is returned to
the tank. The filter should be changed every 200
hours, whenever the hydraulic fluid is changed, or
when the system is serviced. Use the following
procedure to replace the filter.
1. Use a filter wrench and rotate the filter coun -
terclockwise to remove it.
2. Lubricate the seal on the new filter with hy -
draulic fluid.
3. Install the filter and hand tighten.
4. Inspect the filter for leaks when the hydraulic
system is activated.
Refer to the manufacturer’s operating and service
manuals for additional information and instruc-
tions for servicing the hydraulic system.
