Configure every device of the MRP-Ring individually. Before you connect the redundant line,
verify that you have completed the configuration of every device of the MRP-Ring. You thus help
avoid loops during the configuration phase.
You deactivate the flow control on the participating ports.
If the flow control and the redundancy function are active at the same time, it is possible that the
redundancy function operates differently than intended. (Default setting: flow control
deactivated globally and activated on every port.)
Disable Spanning Tree on every device in the network:
Enable MRP on every device in the network:
In the Command Line Interface you first define an additional parameter, the MRP domain ID.
Configure every ring participant with the same MRP domain ID. The MRP domain ID is a sequence
of 16 number blocks (8-bit values).
Open the
Switching > L2-Redundancy > Spanning Tree > Global
dialog.
Disable the function.
In the state on delivery, Spanning Tree is enabled in the device.

Change to the Privileged EXEC mode.

Change to the Configuration mode.
no spanning-tree operation
Switches Spanning Tree off.
show spanning-tree global
Displays the parameters for checking.
Open the
Switching > L2-Redundancy > MRP
dialog.
Specify the desired ring ports.
