Preparing access via SSH
To access the device using SSH, perform the following steps:
Generate a key in the device.
or
Transfer your own key onto the device.
Prepare access to the device in the SSH client program.
Note:
In the default setting, the key is already existing and access using SSH is enabled.
A.3.1
Generating a key in the device
The device lets you generate the key directly in the device.
Perform the following steps:
Open the
Device Security > Management Access > Server
dialog,
SSH
tab.
Disable the SSH server.
To disable the function, select the
Off
radio button in the
Operation
frame.
To save the changes temporarily, click the button.
To create a RSA key, in the
Signature
frame, click the
Create
button.
Enable the SSH server.
To enable the function, select the
On
radio button in the
Operation
frame.
To save the changes temporarily, click the button.
enable
Change to the Privileged EXEC mode.
configure
Change to the Configuration mode.
ssh key rsa generate
Generate a new RSA key.
