Section 2 Installation / Initial Turn-On
ATLAS Series™
For single cabinet systems (up to DVL 3000) slowly bring up the transmitter
power to the nominal value, as indicated by the bar graph
. Monitor the cabinet
forward and reflected powers, as well as the VSWR reading. A large VSWR (above
1.1) is indicative of a bad RF connection to the test load.
Check PA Module Phasing
. For Single Cabinet systems, check the PA Module
phasing. If any of the PA Module reject load sample levels are above 0030, proceed
to "5.4 PA Module Phasing" on page 5-5.
Verify that the transmitter meter readings are close to the factory test data
meter readings, mainly all of the current and voltage readings.
2.13.4 Cabinet Phasing
NOTE:
This section only applies to DVL 4300 and DVL 5700, 2 cabinet transmitters.
As long as the PA modules have been placed back into their factory tested postions,
neither cabinet should require any PA Module phasing. However, since the output
system will probably have changed on-site, phasing of the 2 cabinets will most
likely be required. At full nominal power output all of the detected rf sample
readings shown in Figure 2-9 should read below 0030 with the Gain button set to
LOW or below 0100 with the gain button set to HIGH. To access the PA Reject
Service screen press OUTPUT, OUTPUT SERVICE and then PA REJECT
SERVICE.
STEP 1
To adjust the cabinet phasing, slowly raise the
transmitter power until you reach the nominal
operating power or the cabinet combiner reject load
sample reading goes above 300, whichever comes
first.
STEP 2
Next, press the Cab1 or Cab2 button (it does not
matter which) and tap the Phase /- buttons
to minimize the reading above the buttons.
Alternately adjust the phase of the 2 cabinets to
reduce the reject sample level below 0030.
STEP 3
If full output power was not reached in step 1, raise the transmitter
power to 100%. Repeat Step 2 if the cabinet combiner reject sample
gets above 0030.
STEP 4
If any of the PA Module reject readings are above 0030 proceed to
"5.4 PA Module Phasing" on page 5-5, and then readjust the cabinet
phasing if necessary.
Verify that the transmitter meter readings are close to the factory test data
meter readings, mainly all of the current and voltage readings.
