Section 2 Installation / Initial Turn-On
ATLAS Series™
Check and set the transmitter configuration.
Here, it is possible to set the
number of exciters, as well as the number of cooling pumps. Fully redundant
transmitters will have two exciters, two cooling pumps and two low voltage power
supply units (LV PSU). The second exciter, cooling pump and LV PSU are
optional. Press the BACK button to return to the System Setup screen.
NOTE:
The number of low voltage power supplies, number of PA power supplies
and 3-phase or single-phase operation is set via DIP switch, S1, located on the
PS Monitor Board. For more information see "Table 4-2 S1, Switch Settings,
PS Monitor Board" on page 4-33.
Set the Date, Time and LCD screen contrast.
Press the CONTROL SET UP
button. Touch the screen at each field to enter the correct data for Date, time and
contrast. There is also a time entry for the LCD screen saver feature. For more
information on this screen see "3.9.4.1 System Setup" on page 3-33.
2.13.1 Cooling System Turn ON
The coolant recovery tank at the pump module must be filled to half capacity
with the recommended 50/50 glycol and water mixture.
NOTE:
If water is readily available at the site, it is recommended that the system is
filled with water, tested for leaks and then drained before filling with the
required 50/50 glycol/water mixture.
Preset the output valve at the pump module outlet for a reading of 68
.
Turn ON the AC mains switch on the Cooling Control Panel
. This will supply
AC power to the Pump Module and the Heat Exchanger.
Press the Remote button on the Cooling Control Panel (green LED should
illuminate)
. There are two modes of operation of the cooling pumps: Local and
Remote. The selection is made on the Cooling Control Panel. In the Remote mode,
the pumps will not start until they are commanded to do so by the transmitter. This
is the normal operating mode.
Turn ON the AC mains (Isolator) switches at the Pump Module.
Depending on
the option ordered there will be one or two pumps (main and standby).
Turn ON the AC mains (Isolator) switches at the Heat Exchanger
.
With the PA power supply breakers (on the front of the PS Modules) still OFF
and all quick connect hoses properly connected to each PA module, press the
transmitter ON button
. The pump module should turn ON and start coolant flow
through the transmitter.
