A lig n m e n t
1. Loosen hood hinge bolts.
N o te th a t the rear m ost bolt holes in hinge are slotted to
allow hood to move back and forth.
2. A djust bracket at hood latch, as necessary. Slotted hole

Hood - G M odel
T he alignm ent of the hood is controlled by the position
of the hood hinges and the height of the two bum pers located
one a t each side of the rad iato r support. T he ad ju stm en t at
the hood lock m ust be m ade a fter the hinges and bum pers
are properly adjusted (R efer to H ood Lock A djustm ent Fig.

1. S crib e a line aro u n d th e en tire hinge p late to be
repositioned.
2. Loosen the appropriate screws and shift the position of
the hood into correct alignm ent using the scribe m arks
to check am ount of movem ent. Check alignm ent by
tightening screws and closing the hood.
R eplacem ent
1. O pen hood and rem ove th e four bolts holding th e
com bination lock catch and lock bolt.
If original hood lock assem bly is to be replaced, scribe a
line around lock for alignm ent on installation.
2. Place hood lock assem bly in position.
3. A djust as outlined under A djustm ents.
A d ju s tm e n t
Hood lock assem bly to be adjusted fore and aft until
hood lock bolt enters center of elongated guide. Bending bolt
to accom plish this ad ju stm en t m ay seriously effect lock
operation and safety catch engagem ent and is, therefore not
recom m ended.
1. A djust lock bolt as shown in Fig. 2C-7.
2. Open hood and a d ju st tightness of catch assem bly so
th a t it is ju st "sn u g " enough to hold lock bolt in
position.
3. Close hood in a norm al m anner.
4. Raise hood again; lock bolt assem bly will have shifted
to o p e ra tin g position. T ig h ten bolts fully. F u rth e r
a d ju stm e n t m ay be m ade a t lock bolt su p p o rt, if
necessary.
5. A djust lock bolt to obtain a secure hood closure and
reasonable lock release effort.
