6 TROUBLESHOOTING
6.1
Think before you act
If you notice the signs of a defect, remember what you did the last time you noticed the
occurrence of the same signs. If your approach that time was correct and successful,
then just do the same thing again. If you are encountering the symptoms for the first
time, consider what the cause might be and follow the procedures described below for
troubleshooting.
6.2
Dust and dirt
Wear and tear is usually caused by grinding dirt particles.
If you dismantle or take apart a part or component, make very sure that no dust or dirt
can penetrate it.
6.3
Use original spare parts
Use only original parts when replacing defective or worn components. To order the re-
quired spare parts, please refer to the spare parts list.
6.4
Act cautiously
Use the appropriate tools for each step in the repair process. Avoid injuries and property
damage by the correct choice in tools. In order to lift or carry a part that is too heavy
for one person, call another person to help and use a jack or winch, if necessary.
