5.1 Drain water separator
- Place a catch tank under the water separator (Position 17-11).
- Open the vent valve (Position 21-2) with a wrench.
- Open the water drain valve (Position 21-3), in order to drain water and sediment
into the catch tank.
- Close the water drain valve (Position 21-3).
- Then bleed the fuel line.
See Section 5.2
5.2 Bleed fuel line
- Loosen the vent valve (Position 21-2).
- Operate the hand pump (Position 21-1) until fuel exits the vent valve.
- Close the vent valve (Position 21-2).
5.3 Drain water and sediment from the fuel tank
- Remove the generator-side battery cover (Position 17-5), then loosen the clamp-
ing bolts and remove the battery cover.
- Gently lift the generator up by its opposite end.
- Place the fuel drain hose into the holding tank and remove the drain plug.
- Let the water and sediment drain.
Let at least 1 to 2 litres of fuel drain, in order to remove the water and sediment.
It is known that there are invisible dirt particles are in the sediment, which man-
age to penetrate the filter and which damage the precision machined parts of the
fuel injection system.
DANGER
Do not smoke when draining the water and
sediment. Keep away from open flame and
devices that spark.
Clean up spilled fuel before starting the motor.
