Fill motor oil
-
Open the noise protection cover if there is one present.
-
Fill the motor with lubricating oil via the oil filler tube (Position 17-9).
-
For oil quality and oil viscosity, see working materials, Section 1.10.
-
Start the motor, let it idle for a few minutes, and then examine it for leaks.
-
Should there be any leaks, tighten the oil filter.
-
Turn the motor off and let it stand for about 5 minutes; then check the oil level
again. The oil level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the dip-
stick. Add oil only when needed.

Change fuel prefilter
-
Place a fuel catch basin under the fuel prefilter (Position 17-11).
-
Open the water drain valve (Position 21-3) and the vent valve (Position 21-2)
and drain water and fuel.
-
Unscrew the filter cartridge counter clockwise along with the water catch basin
with the help of a filter wrench.
Drain the emulsion in the water catch basin and clean the basin.
-
Attach a new filter cartridge to the water catch basin.
Moisten the sealing surfaces of the filter cartridge and the water catch basin.
-
Screw in a clockwise direction.
-
Bleed the fuel prefilter, see Section 5.2.
-
Check for leaks after starting the motor.
5.9
Change fuel filter
-
Loosen and unscrew the fuel filter cartridge with standard tools.
-
Catch the draining fuel.
-
Clean any dirt from the sealing surface of the filter holder.
-
Lightly oil or moisten with the rubber gasket of the new fuel filter cartridge with
diesel fuel.
-
Screw the cartridge on by hand until it is against the gasket.
-
Tighten the fuel filter cartridge another half turn.
-
Check for leaks.
-
After changing the filter, bleed the fuel system, see Section 5.2.
