Special work within the context of use of the machinery/
equipment and troubleshooting and maintenance activities
during the operating sequence; disposal
The adjustment, maintenance and inspection activities and intervals, including in-
formation on the replacement of parts and equipment parts as prescribed by the
operating instructions, must be observed! These activities may only be performed
by qualified personnel.
The operator must provide notification before starting special and maintenance
work! Supervisors must be designated!
With all work that concerns the operation, production adjustment, upgrading or
setting of the machinery/equipment and its safety-related equipment as well as in-
spection, maintenance and repair, observe on and off procedures in accordance
with the operating instructions and tips for maintenance work!
As necessary, secure a large area in the maintenance area!
When maintenance and repair work is being performed on the completely shutoff
machinery/equipment, unintentional reconnection must be avoided by:
Switch the key to „OFF“ and disconnect and/or post a warning sign.
When replacing individual parts and major assemblies, carefully fasten and secure
them to the hoists so that there is no danger. Only appropriate and technically
sound hoists as well as lifting devices with sufficient carrying capacity should be
used! Do not stop or work under suspended loads!
Only experienced persons trained by crane operators may lift loads! The trainer
must remain within sight of the operator and stay in voice contact with him.
With overhead assembly work, safety-lifts and platforms intended for this purpose
should be used. Do not use machinery components as lifts! During maintenance
work at great heights, use fall protection.
Keep all handles, steps, railings, landings, platforms and ladders free of dirt, snow
and ice!
Clean the machinery and, in particular, the connections and fittings, before begin-
ning maintenance/repair of oil, fuel or maintenance products! Do not use harsh
cleaning agents! Use lint-free wipes!
Before cleaning the machinery with water or steam jet (pressure cleaner) or other
cleaning agents, cover/glue shut all openings so that for safety and functional rea-
sons no water/steam/detergent may penetrate. Electrical components are particu-
larly at risk.
After cleaning, remove all covers/glue!
