5.4 Clean the filter
Aim compressed air into the blower airflow in the opposite direction of the ribs.
5.5 Change motor oil
The motor oil is changed every 500 hours of operation.
Because of its design, the process is performed with a hand pump (Position 17-
10), following the individual steps listed below:
- Warm up the motor and lubricating oil temperature to approximately 80 °C.
- Keep the generator horizontal.
- Shut the motor off.
- Position the oil catch basin next to the unit.
- Put the oil drain hose in the oil catch basin, remove the sealing plugs.
- Pump the oil using the hand pump (Position 17-10) into the oil catch basin.
- Stopper the oil drain hose with the sealing plugs.
- Fill with motor oil, see Section 5.7.
- For oil quality and oil viscosity, see working materials, see Section 1.11.
- Check the oil level, see Section 2.5.2.
Use caution when draining hot oil: there is the risk of scalding!
Collect the old oil; do not let it seep into the ground!
Dispose of properly!
