1 .4 .6 Entering a Tare Weight via the GS8920 Keyboard.
The GS8920 will store up to fifty 6 digit tare weights each of which is accessed by reference to its tare
register number in the range 1 to 50. The stored tare weight belonging to the currently active tare
register is displayed by first keying
TARE
then
ENTER
to display the current tare register’s number
followed by
CODE/WT
to display the tare weight. The GS8920 will be in the NUMERAL entry
mode following operation of the
CODE/WT
key and a new tare weight may be entered using the
numeral keys followed by
ENTER
to save the new tare weight. If the tare register contains a “weigh
in” weight it CANNOT be changed at the keyboard. The GS8920 displays
-Locd-
for 1 second and
then displays the tare weight which cannot be changed as the numeral keys are not active.
A tare weight can be entered to any of the 50 tare registers by first selecting the tare register as
described in “Select a Tare Register”. Keying
CODE/WT
while the tare register number is displayed
will immediately display the tare weight which may then be changed using the numeral keys.
The GS8920 Ticket Printer will not accept a tare weight which is either greater than the scale’s
capacity or which has a least significant digit not in accordance with the indicator’s “count by” setup.
The example shows the tare weight for tare register 25 changed from 28.543 to 0.375. The GS8920’s
stored tare weight facility can only be accessed if it was enabled during digital setup of the GS8920
Ticket Printer.
