1 .4 .12 Clearing the Contents of the Accumulators.
In addition to its use for clearing the numeral display and cancelling a function, the
CLEAR
key can
be used as a function key to initiate clearing of the GS8920’s accumulators. Following operation of the
CLEAR
key the GS8920 can clear :-
The contents of all of the 50 accumulator registers.
The contents of the Security Register.
The GS8920 will first print the contents of the selected registers and will automatically ask for a new
sheet of paper as it fills each with data. It will also number each page so that the proper sequence for
the data is retained.
The GS8920 has a remote interlock facility that may be used to prevent clearing of the contents of the
accumulators and Security Register. If the interlock is active then the message
-Locd-
will be
displayed on any attempt to clear these registers.
To clear the registers insert a ticket or a sheet of paper into the GS8920 and key
CLEAR
and when
the prompt message
-CLr-
is displayed press the key for the data to be cleared.
