FEED/8 Key.
Advances the ticket one line space and releases the pinch rollers that grip the ticket. If held down
causes the ticket to continue to advance. When the message
PAPEr
is displayed tells the user that a
new ticket must be inserted. Used also as numeral 8.
SUM/9 Key.
The first operation displays
Su 01
and places the next gross weight reading from the digital weight
indicator into the summation register. Successive key operations cause the GS8920 to get another
weight reading from the weight indicator and to add that reading to the weight already in the
summation register. The number in the display is incremented by 1. Up to 30 additions can be made.
An attempt to exceed 30 additions results in the GS8920 displaying the message
——
for 1 second.
The summed weight may either be used or abandoned by keying
CLEAR
. The summed weight can
be placed in the GS8920’s print buffer for later printing on a ticket by keying
.
The summed weight is used in place of the indicator’s gross weight when a ticket is printed in response
to operation of the keys
AC +, AC -, WEIGH IN
or
WEIGH OUT
while
Su 01
was displayed.
The ticket always identifies the fact that a summed weight rather than the indicators current gross
weight is being used. The individual weights that made up the summed weight will be printed while
the GS8920 is printing a ticket. Used also as numeral 9.
PRINT Key.
Keyed while
COPY
is displayed produces a copy of the ticket just printed. Keyed during entry of an
ID number places the ID number into the print buffer for later printing. Keyed while
Su xx
is
displayed places the summed weight into the print buffer for later printing. Keyed at any other time
displays
-Prn-
. Any key with a base the same colour as the corner chip on the
key may then
be operated to obtain a ticket.
AC Key.
Keyed while
-Prn-
is displayed prints a ticket containing the contents of the active accumulator
register. Keyed at any other time displays the active accumulator’s number in the form
Ac 01
. Another
accumulator may be made active by entering its number in the range 1 to 50 followed by the
ENTER
key.
TARE Key.
Keyed while
-Prn-
is displayed prints the contents of all the tare registers. Tare registers containing a
“weigh in” weight are identified on the ticket with a “
w
” following the tare register number. Empty
tare registers are not printed. Keyed at any other time causes the currently active tare register’s number
to be displayed in the form
tr 01
. Another tare register may be made active by entering its number in
the range 1 to 50 followed by the
ENTER
key. The
CODE/WT
key may be operated to display and
change the active tare register’s tare weight.
ENTER Key.
Keyed to save and accept a numeral entry.
CLEAR Key.
Used during the operation of other keys to either set the numeral display to zero or to cancel an
operation. For example, the key
TARE
may have been operated, the display will then show
tr —
with
the “numeral” lamp on to denote that a numeral entry is required. In this instance, keying
CLEAR
will
first set the tare register number to zero, keying
CLEAR
immediately again will cancel the tare
operation and will display the currently active tare register number. When
CLEAR
is operated alone,
Clr-
is immediately displayed and any other key whose base contains the same colour as the triangle
on the
CLEAR
key may then be operated. If access to the Totals and Security Registers has been
locked out by use of a remote key switch the message
-Locd-
will be displayed for 1 second and the
GS8920 will return to its normal operating mode.
