1.3.5.1  GDU 1040 Cooling Requirements 

External cooling of the GDU 1040 is required.  A fan bracket (Garmin P/N 115-00973-00) is available to 
mount an axial fan (Garmin recommended fan 013-00102-00, See Table 1-6) to the system rack.  The 
bracket is designed to secure a 2.36 x 2.36 inch (60 x 60 mm) axial fan.  See Appendix E for dimensions 
and assembly instructions.  Alternate fans can be found in Table 1-7.
