Inmarsat system bodies
The function of each body in the Inmarsat system is as shown in the table below.

Function
Operation Control Center (OCC)
The OCC is the nerve center of the
system and is located at the Inmarsat’s
headquarters in London. The OCC
provides continuous, round-the-clock
cooordination for all functions in the
Inmarsat system.
Satellite Control Centers (SCC)
The SCCs main function is to correct
satellite rotation error.
Network Coordination Stations (NCS)
Each region has an NCS. The NCS
controls the lines of communication and
broacasts information such as
navigational warnings, weather reports
and news.
Mobile Earth Stations (MES)
Mobile Inmarsat-B stations including
aircraft.
