Basic software procedures

Change to the directory where the file
F_All.bat
is located and start the
Flash BIOS Update with the command
DosFlash
. Then follow the
instructions on the screen.
Ê
After the Flash BIOS Update the system reports the messages:.

Warning: System must power-off to have the changes take
effect!
"
"
!! Please AC OFF when update done !!
"
Ê
If you power-on the system again the system will be booted with the new
BIOS revision. Check the settings in the BIOS setup utility. If necessary,
reconfigure the settings again.
BIOS recovery procedure

For the Japanese market, follow the instructions provided separately.
Ê
Prepare a USB stick with the following files:
– File BIOS.CAB must be present in the root directory of the bootable USB
stick (12 MB with header information).
Ê
Ensure that the server has been shut down and disconnected from the
mains as described in section
"Shutting down the server node" on page 45 .
Ê
Remove the server node from the server enclosure as described in section
"Removing the server node from the server enclosure" on page 46 .
Ê
Enter BIOS recovery mode using the onboard jumpers.

For detailed information on jumper settings, refer to section "Onboard
connectors" on page 257 .
Ê
Install the server node in the server enclosure "Installing the server node in
the server enclosure" on page 63 .
Ê
Connect the USB stick to the USB port.
Ê
Connect the server to the mains as described in the Upgrade and
Maintenance Manual "PRIMERGY CX400 S2 Server Enclosure".
Ê
Press the On / Off button to start up the server.
