Replacing the system board
Note on system information backup / restore
I
The system board contains the Chassis ID EPROM that contains system
information like server name and model, housing type, serial number and
manufacturing data.
To avoid the loss of non-default BIOS settings before replacing the
system board, take notes of the important system configuration data by
hand. After replacing the system board set the system configuration data
in the BIOS setup menu by hand.
Note on network settings recovery
I
When replacing network controllers or the system board, network
configuration settings in the operating system will be lost and replaced
by default values. This applies to all static IP address and LAN teaming
configurations.
Ensure to note down your current network settings before replacing a
controller or the system board.
