Saving connection blade settings
After replacing and configuring a connection blade you must create a backup
copy of the connection blade settings.
Saving out-of-band connection blade settings
Perform the following steps to create a backup copy of the out-of-band
configuration data of a connection blade.
Ê
If not done yet, login to the management blade web interface, see section
"Accessing the management blade web interface" on page 44
.
Ê
Open the
System – Connection Blades – Connection Blade-x
menu for the
desired connection blade.
Ê
Open the
Backup/Restoration
tab.
Ê
In the
Backup Configuration
box of the
Connection Blade Out-Of-Band
Configuration
frame select the backup medium.
– Select
Memory
to store the backup file in the management blade memory.
– Select
USB
to store the backup file in a USB memory stick.

This option is only displayed if a USB memory stick is connected
to the management blade.
– Select
Local File
to store the backup file in the file system of the field
service terminal.

The filename of the backup copy will be automatically generated
consisting of an identification tag and the current date and time.
Ê
Click the
Backup
button.
Saving enhanced connection blade settings
Perform the following steps to create a backup copy of the enhanced
configuration data of a connection blade.
Ê
If not done yet, login to the management blade web interface, see section
"Accessing the management blade web interface" on page 44
.
Ê
Open the
System – Connection Blades – Connection Blade-x
menu for the
desired connection blade.
Ê
Open the
Backup/Restoration
tab.
