Making a local call abroad
Just like calling in Japan, you can make a local
call simply by dialing a general phone or mobile
phone number in the visited country.
c
If the callee is an overseas user of “WORLD
WING”, calls should be made as international
telephone calls to Japan even if the callee is in
the same country by using the operation for call-
ing countries registered in the “Int’l dial settings”
(p.54), operation for calling from the phonebook
or operation described in “Making a call outside
the visited country (including Japan)” (p.443).

Setting the Search Mode of
the Provider
In the event the network of the provider being
used becomes outside the range of service,
connection will be remade automatically to the
network of a different communications carrier.
c
It is also possible to make the setting to manual
selection of connection to the provider rather
than automatic search or to remake the connec-
tion by searching for a provider other than the
carrier to which a connection is currently made.
c
It is also possible to prioritize the provider to
which connection is to be made in advance using
the “PLMN setting” (p.445).
c
There may be cases in which this function can-
not be set depending on the state of radio waves
or the status of the network.
NOTE
e
When making a call to the country in which the recipient
is staying (including Japan) from the i-mode site or mail
detail screen using the “Phone To Function”, select
“International call” from the “Dialing” screen (p.227) and
select “Dial”. The code “+” and the “Country Code” will
be added to the original telephone number in the trans-
mission. (In the event the telephone number begins with
a “0”, this will be deleted.) In the case of a country for
which the country code is not registered in “Int’l dial set-
tings”, it is not possible to make calls using the “Phone
To Function”. Also when making calls to certain coun-
tries and territories such as Italy, there may be cases in
which the “Phone To Function” cannot be used.
