Notes on using FirstPass
a
FirstPass is a DoCoMo’s digital authentica-
tion service. FirstPass enables client
authentication, where a site authenticates
the FOMA terminal.
a
FirstPass can be used either when a FOMA
terminal is directly connected to the Inter-
net or when it is connected via a PC. When
the FOMA terminal is connected to the
Internet via a PC, the FirstPass PC soft-
ware provided on the “FOMA N902iS
用
CD-
ROM” (CD-ROM for FOMA N902iS) bun-
dled with the FOMA terminal must be
installed on the PC. For more information,
refer to the “FirstPassManual” (PDF file)
contained in the “FirstPassPCSoft” folder
on the CD-ROM. (The “FirstPassManual” is
in Japanese only.)
To view the “FirstPassManual” (PDF),
Adobe Reader (version 6.0 or later recom-
mended) is required.
If this software is not installed on your PC,
you can download it from the Adobe Sys-
tems Incorporated website. (Additional
communication charges will apply.) Visit the
Adobe Systems Incorporated website for
details.
a
When requesting a user certificate, care-
fully read and agree to the “FirstPass
usage regulations” shown on your screen
before proceeding with your request.
a
To use a user certificate, you need to enter
your PIN2 code (p.156). Take great care to
prevent unauthorized persons from using
your FOMA card (UIM) or PIN2 code since
all the actions performed subsequent to the
PIN2 code entry will be assumed to have
been performed by you.
a
If your FOMA card (UIM) is lost or stolen,
you can have your user certificates invali-
dated by calling “Inquiries” described on
the back cover.
a
NTT DoCoMo is not responsible for and
accepts no liability whatsoever regarding
the sites or the content provided by First-
Pass-compliant sites. Any disputes are to
be resolved between the customer and the
FirstPass-compliant site.
a
NTT DoCoMo and its authentication com-
pany provide no guarantee regarding secu-
rity or secrecy in the use of FirstPass and
SSL certificates. Such certificates are used
entirely at the discretion of the user.
