Cleaning the OTDR Connector 

Note 

Typically, the OTDR connector requires cleaning 
only if it has been touched. 

Use a dry, optical-grade wipe to clean the OTDR 
connector. Figure 3-1 shows how to remove the OTDR 
adapter to access the connector ferrule. 

The OTDR port connection quality screen helps you 
determine when the OTDR connector needs cleaning. See 
page 3-14. 

If the connector is very dirty, wipe the end of the ferrule 
with an optical-grade wipe lightly moistened with 99 %-
pure isopropyl alcohol. Dry with a dry wipe.
