Repair and Service Manual

Read all of Section B and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to all Notes, Cautions and Warnings

The parking brake to equalizer cable may require
replacement if it shows signs of wear. Cable replacement
consists of first removing the wire tie securing the rubber
boot to the parking brake (item 1). Remove the boot.
Remove the nut (item 6) and spherical nut (item 7).
Remove cotter pin and clevis pin (item 2) and pull cable
(item 4) free. Check to see that the pulley rotates freely
and lubricate if necessary with a light oil.

Install new cable in reverse order of removal using new
cotter pins and adjust parking brake system per instruc-
tions above.

Tighten the hardware per torque specification table given
below.
