Read all of Section B and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to all Notes, Cautions and Warnings
Tighten the hardware per torque specification table given
below.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT
Disconnect negative (-)
cable from battery to pre-
vent electrical shorts
that could cause an explosion.

Extension, 3", 3/8" drive .............................................. 1
Deep well socket, 7/16" ............................................... 1
Deep well socket, 12mm ............................................. 1
Needle nose locking pliers .......................................... 1
Remove seat bottom (Ref Seat Bottom Replacement
Section in BODY AND TRUCK BED). Remove the seat
back (Ref Seat Back Replacement Section in BODY
AND TRUCK BED). Remove seat crossmember.
Remove CVT cover (Ref Drive Clutch Replacement sec-
tion in CVT). Remove springs (item 1) using needle nose
locking pliers (Ref Fig. 19 on page H-13). Remove the
nuts (item 2) using 12mm deep well socket, and 3" exten-
sion. Loosen clamp (item 3) and remove exhaust mani-
fold (item 4) from exhaust pipe (item 5) and engine.
Installation of exhaust manifold is the reverse of disas-
sembly using new lock nuts.
Tighten the hardware per torque specification table given
below.
