Front Drive Shaft Removal
Use a commercially available Anti-Seize com-
pound on Shaft and Bearing splines.
Tool List Qty. Required
Wheel chocks .............................................................. 4
Torque wrench, 1/2" drive, ft. lbs ................................. 1
Impact wrench, 1/2" drive ............................................ 1
Impact socket, 1/2", 1/2" drive ..................................... 1
Ball peen hammer ....................................................... 1
Park the vehicle on a flat surface. Engage park brake.
Install chocks in front and behind each front wheel.
Remove bolts (item 1) using 1/2" impact socket (Ref Fig.
10 on page J-8). Remove the washers (item 2). Com-
press front drive shaft (item 3) and remove it from under-
side of the vehicle.
The installation of the front drive shaft is the reverse of
disassembly. Use new locking bolts.
