Section 6: Sharing Files
You can share pages and files from your M3 device with another M3 device user. A page created by one
user on a specific topic (for example, a science class) might be very useful to another user with just a small
amount of customizing. You can import pages that were created by another person into your own M3 device.
You can also export pages that you’ve created to share with another person. These tasks are described in
this section.
Making a Package to Share Files
The most efficient way to share information between M3 devices is by creating a package. A package is a
collection of pages and all of their related files. Any supplemental items (custom symbols, custom recordings
and digital pictures) that are used in a page will be included when that page is part of a package. By using
packages to share page information with other M3 users, you can be sure that all of the required files are
included with the page(s) that you want to share.
To create a package of pages to share with another M3 user, follow these steps:

The steps below require the use of an external file sharing device - a USB storage device
(like the one that was shipped with your M3 device) or a CompactFlash card.
1.
Connect the external file sharing device to your M3 device (refer to the pictures on pages 9 and
10 for the port locations).

Select the Setup button in the title bar. The
M3 Setup
menu will open.

Select the
Page Browser
button. The
Page Browser
menu will open.
4.
In the left viewport, select the page set folder that contains pages that you want to share.
Note:
When your are creating a package from pages, you cannot select pages from more than
one page set folder.
