LUBRICATION
DANGER : Never lubricate or service the machine
when the PTO is operating and/or the tractor
engine is running.
IMPORTANT!
Frequent lubrication and greasing in correct quantity will
reduce the wear on components and could reduce the
frequency of breakdowns.
HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT
The Forage Harvester is equipped with an hydraulic sys-
tem for lifting the attachment and one for the rotation of
the pole. Make sure the hydraulic oil level on the tractor
is sufficient.
POWER-TAKE-OFF (PTO)
To prevent the telescopic shafts on the PTO from block-
ing, disassemble both sections and grease the tubular
shaft by inserting approximately two ounces of grease.
LUBRICATION CHART
The symbols in the chart below indicate specific points
which should be greased, oiled and verified:
CHAINS LUBRICATION
To lubricate the chains, always use a lubricant specially
made for roll chains
Chains which have become very dirty should be soaked
and cleaned in a solvent.
As per manufacturer specification, the chains life is lim-
ited to 1.5% of stretching from its theoretical length.
GEAR BOX LUBRICATION
The oil level on all gear boxes should be checked after
the first ten hours of operation, at the beginning of every
season and after every 100 hours of operation.
It is recoended to use ESSO SPARTAN oil (F4123651P
/ 1 liter) in both gear boxes.
Fill up according to levels shown in the glass plugs on
the gear boxes.
Do not
grease lifting arm rolls.
