Diagnostic Logging
The following is an overview describing the diagnostic logging capabilities of the Media Gateway
and includes the following sections:

9.4.1
Overview
The Media Gateway provides the user with the ability to record, in real-time, diagnostic
information. This information can then be transferred to a PC for off-line analysis of problems.
Three independent logs are available:
•
Trace Capture:
The Trace log is a verbatim copy of the trace messages that are available
using the terminal interface. The messages are described in
Section 9.6, “Trace Mechanism”
•
Network Capture:
The network log is a copy of the IP messages transmitted and received by
the Gateway.
