This command uses hexadecimal format to display the first 15
bytes in memory to the screen. The dump display shows rows
of address contents. The leftmost column gives the address of
the first field in each row.
e (examine) Command
The e (examine) command displays the byte, halfword, or
word at a specific address. To use the e command, type e
[-(b | h | w)] addr and press Return.
The optional first parameter specifies the data size used in the
display. If you do not include this parameter, the display uses
words.
Specify -b for a display in single bytes.
Specify -h for a display in halfwords.
Specify -w for a display in words.
Replace addr with the address you want to examine. Use an
address from 0x80000000 to 0xBF000000.
When you use the examine command, a display similar to the
following appears:
0x80000005:
65 0x41
’A’
The leftmost value is the address you entered.
The next three entries are the address’s contents in decimal,
hexadecimal, and ASCII formats, respectively. If the ASCII
character is unprintable, it is displayed as an octal value
preceded by a backslash: for example, ’\032’.
Example:
>> e 0x80000000
This command examines the word at address 0x80000000. The
resulting display might look like this:
0x80000000:
1008385985
0x3c1abfc1
’\301’
