Modem and Printer Test
The modem and printer test checks the ability of the serial
line controller to interface with a modem, printer, or alternate
terminal connected to a communications line.
To run the modem and printer test, type t 7/dz/modem [port]
[cts-lbk] and press Return.
When you type the modem and printer test command,
Replace port with a value that specifies the communications
you want to test.
Specify comm to test the right communications line.
Specify print to test the left communications line.
Replace cts-lbk with the value that specifies the type of
loopback you want to run.
Specify n to run a data-leads-only test.
Specify y to run a clear-to-send test.
Modem and printer test error messages
Modem and printer test error messages have the form
?TFL: 7/modem ( description)
Where
?TFL 7/modem indicates that the modem and printer test
reported an error.
description represents additional information that describes
the failure.

test error messages.

Error Description Meaning
(MSR reg not idle: xxxx) Modem status register was active when it
should have been inactive.
(no DSR: MSR=xxxx) Data- set-ready signal was not given.
(send: no CTS: MSR=xxxx) Clear to send signal was not given.
