WHEEL CYLINDER INSTALLATION
1. Install wheel cylinder with two new bolts and lock washers (9) (Figure 6-18, Page 6-20). Tighten the
two bolts to 120 in-lb (13 N·m).
2. Install the brake line or hose. See Hydraulic Line and Hose Replacement on page 6-24.
3. Install brake shoes. See Brake Shoe Installation on page 6-12.
4. Bleed brakes as instructed. See Bleeding the Hydraulic Brake System on page 6-29.
5. Perform all of the brake system inspections to ensure that both the hydraulic brake system and the park
brake system are adjusted and operating correctly before placing the vehicle into service. See Brake
System Inspection on page 6-2.
BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTER REPLACEMENT

∆ WARNING
• If at any point in this procedure the hydraulic system is opened, the brakes must be bled after
the correct reinstallation of the brake components. Failure to bleed the brakes could result in
decreased braking performance due to air being trapped in the hydraulic system. Use only
DOT 5 brake fluid. See Bleeding the Hydraulic Brake System on page 6-29.
BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTER REMOVAL
1. Remove brake drums. See Brake Drum Removal on page 6-7.
2. Remove the rear axle to remove rear brake shoes. To remove the front brake shoes, proceed to step 3.
2.1. Using 90° internal snap ring pliers (.090 tip) (CCI 1012560), remove internal retaining ring from
axle tube (Figure 6-19, Page 6-21).
2.2. Carefully pull the axle shaft straight out of the axle tube.
2.3. Repeat steps 2.1 and 2.2 for the opposite rear wheel if necessary.
