Chapter 5
Getting Started with the DPA 7630/7610
Configuring Network Settings
For example, if:
•
You need to replace an existing DPA 7630/7610 with a new one.
You can change the host name on the replacement DPA 7630/7610 to match
the previous DPA 7630/7610. This prevents you from reconfiguring all the
phones associated with its ports. However, if you do this, be careful not to
add the original DPA 7630/7610 to the same network later using the same
host name.
•
The DPA 7630/7610 has a similar MAC address to an existing phone.
For example, if the DPA 7630/7610 has a MAC address of: 123456790A, it
attempts to register its first port as a phone with MAC address of
34567890AB01. However, if there is already a phone in the
Cisco CallManager database with that MAC address, registration fails.
