Important Note for Users of CR10XM
Modules only
If you have purchased the CR10XM (i.e. the CR10X without the Wiring Panel),
please note that Campbell Scientific sells this item as a component part. This
means that it is your responsibility to ensure that any systems using the CR10XM
as a component comply with European EMC legislation.
Compliance of the CR10X with the European directives on EMC is reliant on its
use with the wiring panel supplied by Campbell Scientific (see page OV-2 of this
manual). If you decide to dispense with the wiring panel for whatever reason, you
then become responsible for ensuring that the EMC performance of the CR10XM
is not compromised.
It is suggested that you take the following precautions:
1.
Use only screened cables for all connections and ensure that such screens are
grounded.
2.
Ensure that the CR10XM is adequately grounded. If there is any possibility of
transients (caused by electrostatic discharge for example) being coupled into
the wiring, transient suppressers should be placed across all inputs/outputs.
The above are suggestions only and will not necessarily
ensure that a particular configuration will remain compliant -
the onus is on the user to ensure this.
It should be noted that any user who ‘takes into service’ (i.e.
operates a system) which does not comply with the EMC
directives in a country which has adopted European EMC
legislation,
risks having legal action taken against them by the
government of that country.
