frame relay in RFC1490 format are known in IBM terminology as BAN Type 1
frames. Besides the encapsulation information, the main difference between BAN and
BNN LLC2 frames is that BAN sends the MAC addresses across the WAN. BAN is
usually used for connectivity to AS/400 hosts only.
