Calculating a Cartesian coordinate
and the angle coordinate
Fig.11-37:
Calculation of a Cartesian coordinate and the angle coordinate
The specified calculation from a radius and a Cartesian coordinate is performed
as follows:
1.
Ensure that the coordinate system on which your calculation is based is
activated. For diameter programming check "Turning".
2.
Enter the pole coordinates. As in all entry fields, expressions are allowed.
3.
Enter the radius in the provided field.
4.
Enter the given horizontal and/or vertical Cartesian coordinate. If only the
distance of the point to the pole is known, activate ">>" in order to switch
over to the incremental entry. Enter the distance with sign and always as
radius measure.
5.
Initiate the calculation using the return key or by changing the focus.
6.
In this task, there are usually two solutions. By activating the "Another
Solution" pushbutton, switch over to the desired one, if necessary.
Errors
Error Causes
The following error causes can be considered:
●
Inadmissible mathematical operations,
●
Syntax errors,
●
The exceedance of a value range and
●
The entry values do not allow for the geometric calculation.
Error display
In the bottom left corner of the form, an error message with the corresponding
reference to the error cause appears. In value range and format errors, the
focus is automatically reset into the field of the latest entry.
Troubleshooting
Using the <Esc> key, you can reject the latest entry or edit the entry field speci‐
fied in the error message.
If the error has occurred in the geometric calculation, the error can also be
removed by changing another entry field.
An error state in the geometric calculation may occur more often in
repeated calculations of identical tasks after the first given param‐
eter of the next calculation has been recorded. The interim condition
before completion of all new entries can hardly be avoided and
gives no cause for concern.
