CAUTION
This is a matched bearing assembly. Do not
mix the bearings with any other parts, as
improper bearing perform-ance or sudden
malfunction of the bearing may result, which
may cause damage to the paver.
c. Press first bearing cone (3) onto shoulder of
shaft.
d. Press second bearing cone (3) on so that it
contacts first cup back-to-back.

Step 2:
Install output gear in case.
a. Tip case on back.
b. Install inner cup (4).
c. Center output gear (5) in case.
d. Install shaft with bearings and tap into place.
e. Install outer cup (6).
f. Apply grease to bearings.
g. Install seal (7).
h. Install retaining cap (8) with O-ring (9).
i. Install bolts (10) with thread sealant. Tighten in
criss-cross pattern and torque to 60-65 lb-ft (85
N•m).

j. Install seal shield (11).
k. Install bearing cone (12) on opposite end of
shaft.
l. If removed, press bearing cup (13) in bearing
cap (14).
Step 3:
Adjust output shaft pre-load.
a. Use a feeler gauge to check the distance
between the case and end cap. Subtract 0.008"
(0.20 mm) from the total, and install shim pack
for the difference.

b. Remove cap.
c. Install O-ring on cap.
d. Install shim pack.

e. Install cap.
f. Install cap screws with lock washers and thread
sealant. Tighten in criss-cross pattern and torque
to 60-65 lb-ft (81-88 N•m).
g. Tap and check pre-load.
