Step 11:
Disassemble clutch shaft (4) and housing (14).
NOTE
Remove shaft by tapping it out with a wooden
mallet or installing four bolts into the flange
mount of the shaft. Bottom them out against the
housing and tighten in an alternating pattern to
draw the shaft out of the bearing.
a. Pry out seal (15) from housing.
b. Remove retaining ring (16) from shaft.
c. Remove the shaft from the housing and bearing.

Step 12:
Remove bearing (17) if it is to be replaced.
a. Remove retaining ring (18) from the housing.
b. Remove bearing by tapping it out with a punch
or by using a puller.
Step 13:
Remove operating shaft (19) and fork assembly.
a. Remove hand lever (20) from the operating
shaft.
b. Loosen bolts that clamp fork assembly to
operating shaft.
c. Slide fork assembly either direction to disengage
it from the woodruff keys.
d. Remove the two woodruff keys from the operat-
ing shaft.
e. Remove the operating shaft from the housing.
Step 14:
OPTIONAL: If further disassembly is required, refer
to Appendix A-1 for a listing of available clutch
publications.
ASSEMBLY
NOTE
Assembly is performed outside of machine.
NOTE
Refer to the exploded view of the PTO and
clutch assembly, as needed, for assembly.
Step 1:
OPTIONAL: If further disassembly was required,
refer to vendor material for assembly.
Step 2:
Install bearing (17) into housing (14).
a. Using tooling which contacts only the outer
bearing race, press the bearing into the housing
until it bottoms out.
b. Assure that race is installed with the seal facing
outward.

Step 3:
Install retaining ring (18) into housing.
NOTE
Internal retaining ring pliers (snap-ring pliers)
must be used to prevent distortion of the ring
and for safety considerations.
a. Install the retaining ring into the groove of the
housing.
b. Assure that retaining ring is fully seated in the
groove.
c. Pack the bearing and seal cavity with multipur-
pose grease.
